Multi-million-pound funding boost to help Muir deliver more affordable homes

A HUGE £2.3million funding boost will help Muir kick start an exciting new housing strategy designed to provide more affordable homes.

Following a successful application, Muir Group Housing Association has been awarded its slice of a giant £1.4billion pot of additional funding being allocated by the Homes and Communities Agency, aimed at delivering a further 44,000 affordable homes across the UK.

This additional funding will allow Muir to press ahead with a number of potential developments in order to help combat the shortage of affordable housing throughout the country.

The new homes will complement Muir’s current portfolio of properties and help build on the success of its existing programme of shared ownership homes as this route to owning a home continues to grow in popularity with buyers.

Sam Scott Sam Scott, Muir’s Executive Director of Operations (pictured) said: “We are absolutely delighted to have received such a fantastic amount of funding which will help to pave the way for Muir to develop more much needed affordable housing across the country.”

“This funding will provide Muir with an even stronger platform from which to continue providing high quality homes to families and people struggling to rent or purchase a new property.

“Muir’s increasingly popular shared home ownership schemes are testament to our dedication and commitment towards helping people onto the property ladder.

“We are pleased this funding will enable Muir to unlock the door to affordable homes for many more people in the future.”

Muir made its successful funding bid via the Accent Group Consortium, of which it is a part.

The group successfully managed to secure more than £41 million of funding for new affordable housing in the UK.

Details about the number of additional affordable homes Muir will hope to deliver following receipt of the funding will be revealed shortly.
