NEW KIER OPERATIVES BACKED TO BOOST REPAIRS SERVICE FOR MUIR’S EAST REGION RESIDENTS

KIER are committing several new operatives to resolving more repairs for Muir residents and enhancing the service they receive.

Two new multi-skilled maintenance operatives and an electrician join a new site manager and resident liaison officer all dedicating themselves to helping more East region Muir residents in their homes.

The Kier operatives will carry out responsive repairs, meaning residents should benefit from an enhanced service, while the new site manager and resident liaison officer will be working with residents to deliver an exciting series of planned works for the region.

Kier logo “We have recently employed an additional five locally based people into operational roles on our repairs contract with Muir,” said, Alex Sanderson, Area Director for Kier.

“Helping to build a strong local economy is something that is really important to us at Kier and we hope our new recruits will bring with them valuable local knowledge, which will help us make a bigger impact.”

Muir has welcomed the added investment being dedicated to the maintenance service being rolled out by Kier, which the Association’s Assistant Director of Property Services, Nik Evans, hopes will boost the service residents receive.

“Earlier this year, Kier embarked on a £15m maintenance contract to undertake the repairs service for more than 1,300 homes and residents in our East region,” Nik said.

“We are delighted to see the investment of new operatives, managers and officers being dedicated to this by Kier, which will help deliver the robust and responsive maintenance service Muir residents trust us to provide.”

The agreement also saw Kier take responsibility for planned works in Muir’s East region and the refurbishment of empty properties for incoming Muir residents, as well as resulting in added community initiatives such as apprenticeships, local job opportunities, and resident engagement.
