New members welcomed to Muir Group board
THE board of Muir Group Housing Association has welcomed three new members, two of which are their residents.
Janet Seymour-Kirk, a Muir Group resident who lives in Northallerton, has been re-appointed to the board and joins Susan Kearns, a Muir Group resident who lives in Winsford, who is new to the board.
The trio is completed by Siraz Natha, a policy advisor with the Local Government Association and a member of the Strategic Performance and Value for Money Group.
“I enjoy ' being at the coal face', hoping to help to achieve changes in policy and procedure that will enhance our residents lives in some way,” said Janet.
“Knowing that I have a little hand in this process makes me very humble but never the less very satisfying.
“Working with such caring people is a pleasure and I just wish all residents could know and see as I do, how committed to their welfare the staff and Board members are.”
Susan, who previously worked for Citizens Advice Bureau, said: “This is a chance to be actively involved with the community that I live in. I have been a resident on the Glebe Green estate in Winsford for 25 years and have first-hand knowledge of how good housing improves people's lives.
“I look forward to using my experience and knowledge to make a positive difference for the residents of Muir Housing and helping the association continue to be a successful business into the future.”
Siraz said: “Having already been involved with Muir Group I have been impressed with the values of Muir Group in terms of its commitment to its residents.
“Muir Group’s emphasis on good performance and helping tenants in terms of providing communities rather than just bricks and mortar which really appeals to me, and is something I am looking forward to supporting.”
Muir Group Housing Association is a social landlord with its headquarters in Chester and manages some 5,000 properties across the country.
The Muir Group Board provides strategic direction and accountability for the actions of the organisation as well as ensuring the Muir Group values are upheld.
