New Muir developments are shaping up on the skyline

A SERIES of new developments are rapidly taking shape as building work continues to add more properties to the Muir community.

Schemes in Cheshire and Huntingdon are all climbing steadily towards the skyline and Jo Fallon, Muir Group Housing Association Development Consultant, is excited about seeing them come to fruition.

Muir owns and manages more than 5,000 properties across the UK, providing huge opportunities for people to enter supported and shared ownership schemes with the Association.

“It is fantastic to continue growing the Muir programme and provide much needed accommodation in our key areas of operation,” Jo said.

The next Cheshire builds earmarked for completion are those at Saxon Heath in Tarvin, and Cheshire Limes in Lockstock Gralam where handover of both sets of final properties is imminent.

Developments at Roman Way in Godmanchester, Huntingdon, and Hawleys Lane in Warrington (pictured) are also due to complete either side of Christmas.

“It is important to provide people with a range of tenure options on these sites,” said Jo (pictured).

“The opportunity for affordable home ownership in these areas are key to people who are first time buyers and want to remain there.

Jo Fallon“Muir’s Saxon Heath development consists of 26 affordable rent and 18 shared ownership properties while the two and three-bedroom homes at Cheshire Limes are providing 19 shared ownership and 18 affordable rent dwellings.

“I am also delighted that Muir will be delivering another much needed affordable housing scheme in Huntingdon.

“Work on the five two-bedroom Homes and Communities Agency grant funded bungalows is due for completion this December.

“The bungalows will be made available to people in need of that type of accommodation and will compliment our existing McCartney House scheme nearby.”

For affordable rent, the bungalows will be allocated through Choice Based Lettings.

The 16 two and three-bedroom builds taking place at Hawleys Lane in Warrington are also HCA funded.

They will provide affordable rent accommodation and are set to complete in Spring 2017.

“Muir is pleased to be supporting the regeneration of the Bewsey and Dallam areas of Warrington,” Jo added.
