New Muir homes breathe affordable living into rejuvenated land
SEVEN new Muir properties have helped breathe new life into a community which required more affordable housing.
The properties at Beswicks House, on Beswicks Road in Northwich, have transformed a previously dilapidated plot of land, giving people in the area new opportunities to access affordable living.
Muir Group Housing Association received handover of the properties from developers, Chrome Services Limited, on October 24th, with the six one-bedroom flats and one two-bedroom maisonette all awaiting their new occupants.
And with the new homes being built so close to Northwich town centre, Muir Development Consultant, Jo Fallon, says they are giving people in the area the best of both worlds.
“Not only do these properties provide affordable living so close to all the amenities offered by the town centre, but they have also regenerated a tired and disused brownfield site,” Jo said.
“It had become an eyesore to local people, but now it has a new life and these properties strengthen the long-standing relationship that Muir has had with Northwich for many years.
“We look forward to welcoming new tenants now that work has been completed and are delighted we have been able to offer these homes to people in need of affordable living in the area.”
Designed by Jay Ashall Partnership, the properties will be let on affordable rent.
Chrome Services site manager for the development, Aaron Williams said: "This has been an 18 month project which has transformed this area of land.
"We are happy with the finished site ad pleased to be handing it over to Muir and their residents."
