Redeveloped properties galloping towards the finishing post

THE impressive redevelopment of Muir properties situated within touching distance of an iconic racecourse is nearing completion.

Linenhall Mews in Chester has been undergoing a complete refurbishment and is due to be completed before the end of June.

The building housing the one and two bedroom apartments lies just a short walk away from Chester Racecourse as well as the heart of the city centre itself.

And Housing Services Officers based nearby are excited by the opportunities they offer for potential residents.

Jo Fallon, Development Consultant at Muir Group Housing Association said: “Muir has owned Linenhall for some time and it was until last year being used as a supported housing scheme for single homeless men.

“Following the building being handed back to Muir, we carried out an options appraisal and decided to undertake a comprehensive refurbishment of the building to turn it into five apartments for affordable rent.”

Jenna Southern and Brent Gaskell The scheme is due to complete before the end of the month having received funding from the Housing Communities Agency to help the plans come to fruition.

Muir Tenancy Services Officer, Jenna Southern (pictured with Brent Gaskell of IGL Surveying), visited the site recently and is looking forward to introducing new tenants into the apartments.

She said: “This development will give some people on the social housing register a great opportunity to live in that area.

“It will be down to us to advertise, conduct pre-tenancy checks and make sure the properties are right for the tenants they are offered to.”

The redevelopment consists of four one-bedroom apartments and one two-bedroom apartment and will supplement the existing high standard of housing stock owned by Muir across the country.
