RENTING IN RURAL AREAS IS MADE MORE AFFORDABLE WITH MUIR
MORE than a century of rural homes have been delivered for affordable rent by Muir in the last five years.
Muir’s investment in rural areas allows people to continue living in places they love, enabling them to remain close to their family without having to move further afield in the face of escalating costs.
While Muir’s shared ownership options continue to flourish in rural areas, we realise they aren’t the right move for everyone – that’s why we ensure there are plenty of rental possibilities available in rural places too.
We’ve provided 104 homes for affordable rent in rural Cheshire, Lincolnshire and Lancashire in recent years, and Muir’s Assets and Growth Project Manager, Rob Kirkham says the Association will continue providing affordable rural living.
“Providing housing isn’t only about towns and cities, it’s also about ensuring communities in rural areas can flourish,” Rob said.
“Muir has always identified the importance of affordable rural living – it’s so important in keeping communities together.
“The properties we provide for affordable rent give people a secure foothold in their village before they may opt to buy a property, sometimes through the shared ownership options we also provide in rural communities.
“It’s a great affordable pathway for people to continue living happily in places that they love.”
