Resident mural will capture the people places and passion of community
MORE than £1,300 in funding for a community art project has been secured by residents at one of Muir’s sheltered housing schemes.
Residents at Tweedsmuir in Chester were thrilled to have received Lottery funding to help create a mural depicting Muir’s corporate goals of ‘People, Places, Passion’ through pictures and quotes of people in their community.
Various community groups, friends and family of residents, and neighbours of Tweedsmuir, have all been invited to take part.
The finished mural will be unveiled at Tweedsmuir’s Summer Garden Party, one of the events being held as part of the scheme’s involvement with the Brighter Days project which aims to reduce isolation in the local community.
Donna Hufton, Muir Group Housing Association’s scheme manager at Tweedsmuir said: “We have linked in with Muir Groups corporate goals People, Places, Passion, as the theme for a mural depicting through pictures and quotes the people in our community, the places we live and visit, and the things we are passionate about.
“Everyone at Tweedsmuir is delighted to have received this funding and residents are working hard with people in the community to create what we hope will be a wonderful mural for all to enjoy.
“We look forward to unveiling it at our Summer Garden Party and hope that plenty of people in the community are able to attend on the day.”
This event takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, on August 28th at 1pm, and will comprise of a BBQ, cream teas, live music, raffles, games, prizes and more.
