Residents hold centre stage at Muir's opening engagement event

THE first of Muir’s three resident engagement events has been well received by tenants attending the session at the Association’s head office in Chester.

Residents took to the floor to air their views regarding topics including the services they receive, as Muir bids to use the feedback to improve them and identify the things tenants value most.

R And with the air full of fact finding, interesting debate and interactive group working, residents have encouraged others to make the most of the two forthcoming events taking place in Huntingdon and Burnley on June 13th and 15th respectively.

Wendy Griffith, who lives in Blacon, near Chester said: “I thought it was very interesting.

“The events are a good idea and are a good forum.

“I’ve certainly received some help and people have been able to put their thoughts across which is important.”

R The 10am-3pm session welcomed residents from all over the Cheshire area as Muir discussed the work it has already been doing with some residents as it reviews both the services we offer, as well as what the Association's future resident governance and involvement structure should look like.

Skelmersdale resident Shaun Simpson said: “It was a good event which went well.

“There were a lot of decent observations made and plenty of food for thought for Task and Finish Groups.

“It will be interesting to see what comes out of the events in Huntingdon and Burnley which will be well worth residents attending.”

R Muir’s Assistant Director of Business Improvement and Support, Jan Lycett and Housing Services Manager, Nick Grubb worked with residents to help encourage their views along with Tenancy Services Officers who were all able to hear their thoughts first hand.

“These events are all about what Muir residents think about our services,” Jan said.

“Muir has absolutely always wanted to provide good services and the challenge is to continue that as landscapes change moving forward.

“We don’t want to assume we know what residents want from our services.r

“We want to know what works well and what doesn’t.”
