Residents raise a mug to Macmillan at fundraising coffee morning
RESIDENTS living at one of Muir’s sheltered housing schemes have raised almost £250 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The charity staged its annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event on September 30th, and residents at Arran Close in Fearnhead, Warrington, were among those who had their kettles boiling on Macmillan’s behalf.

A host of beautifully baked cakes were also on offer as residents John and June Haynes invited their scheme neighbours to enjoy the event with them.
And they were proud to be able to donate a sum of £245.55 to the charity which offers its support to anyone affected by cancer in order to help them feel more in control of their lives.
Muir’s Arran Close scheme manager, Shirley Darlington said: “John and June had a fantastic day helping to organise the coffee morning in aid of such a good cause.

“There was a really enjoyable atmosphere and we were all delighted to discover such a fantastic amount had been raised."
Meanwhile, staff at the Muir Group Housing Association head office in Chester held a cake sale in aid of Macmillan in the build up to the event
