RUGBY MAD MUIR RESIDENT SCRUMMAGES THROUGH NEW FRONT DOOR AFTER HOSPITAL PASS

RUGBY mad resident Granville Stanway can’t wait for the 2019 World Cup to get underway as he kicks off life in a brand-new bungalow with Muir.

The 75-year-old recently moved in after a spell in hospital, but said he feels as though he’s touched down between the posts after scrummaging through his new front door.

Granville, a former coach and truck painter, said the only lineout he plans on getting involved in now is when he hangs his washing up.

Muir residentBut he’s ready to tackle anything as he regains his confidence following his hospital pass.

“I like the bungalow very much – It’s ideal for me,” Granville said.

“I’ve been looking forward to moving in here so I can start regaining my independence and my confidence.

“I’ll be able to enjoy relaxing and chilling out and Sam and Lynne (Tenancy Services Officers at Muir) have helped to take a great weight off my mind as I’ve moved in.

“I’m very grateful to them for their support and can’t fault them at all.”

Muir residentGranville has lived in Alsager for the past dozen years, but climbing up and down the stairs at his former home had become a problem.

“It’s great to have a bungalow here,” he said.

“It makes a big difference not having to use stairs all the time.

“After spending some time in hospital, I’ve got the freedom to get out and about.

“And I’m looking forward to following the Rugby World Cup on my TV now too,” he added.

But despite being a proud England supporter, Granville believes it’s Scotland who have what it takes to lift the trophy at the 2019 tournament starting in Japan on September 20th.
