SANTA DROPS INTO SPACE TO PROVIDE FESTIVE FUN FOR CHILDREN AT MUIR’S CHARITY OF THE YEAR

CHRISTMAS came early for children enjoying the work done by Muir’s Charity of the Year – with some help from Santa Claus.
Muir enlisted the help of Santa to deliver some early Christmas presents to the children at SPACE Cheshire – which supports youngsters with additional needs.
Santa slid in on his sleigh just as the children were enjoying a Christmas party at the Chester-based charity, which had been sponsored by Muir.
And Santa delivered 30 selection boxes donated by Muir to the children who were delighted to get an early gift before heading back to the North Pole.
“SPACE Cheshire provides a safe space for children with additional needs to play and learn whilst offering support and a network for their families,” Jonathan Haigh, Muir’s Assistant Director of HR said.
“Muir has been fundraising for the charity throughout the year and it was fantastic to see the children enjoying a visit from Santa Claus.
“Everyone at Muir is delighted to be helping SPACE at a time when they are working to enhance their services even further by designing and developing a much larger play and activity facility.”
Including facilitated play sessions, a sensory room and toy library, SPACE offers advice and emotional support for parents and families such as drop in sessions, counselling, workshop and training.
The charity hopes Muir’s support will help them to open a new fully accessible play frame in February 2020.
The charity’s founder and general manager, Jemma Gregory, said: “This year is such an important one for the charity and the support that Muir is providing will really help make our plans become reality.”
