School's online education enhanced by Muir's iPad gift
A SCHOOL has been presented with a dozen iPads by Muir as the housing association helps pupils fulfil their potential.
Darnhall Primary School in Winsford received the iPads from Muir Group Housing Association after it offered to help it overcome a £12,000 funding struggle, meaning some pupils may have had to go without.
Before Muir’s generous donation, the school, which has a split location, only had enough iPads for its Key Stage Two site.
However, the housing association, which has a long history of operating in the Cheshire area, quickly stepped in to provide Darnhall pupils with the 12 iPads it needed from its own stock; which is due to be renewed shortly.
Darnhall Primary School teacher, Davie Kindon said: “Darnhall’s children, teachers and leadership are hugely grateful for the iPads donated by Muir.
“Teaching and learning in computing is currently a key focus for the school and these iPads will help make our goals achievable.”
Muir’s IT Department has tested all the iPads to ensure they are in good condition for pupils, who can now use them to help fulfil their educational potential and enjoy online learning.
Emma Robinson, a Community Housing Manager at Muir and a governor at Darnhall Primary School, initially raised the issue with her employer to see if the Association could help.
She said: “As soon as Muir became aware of the situation, it looked for ways to provide the school with the equipment it needed.
“Children are key to the future and their education is very important.
“Muir has long had a role in serving communities in Cheshire and the housing association wanted to ensure that all pupils could benefit from the technology available to them.
“We are delighted to help and make a positive difference in their quest for knowledge.”
The iPads will enable the Darnhall Primary School pupils to access a wider range of technology to boost their learning in key areas such as computer programming.
They will also support learning across the curriculum.
