Services officer returns from chairing prestigious NLG conference
A MUIR Leasehold Services Officer has returned from chairing a session at the prestigious National Leasehold Group Conference.
Suzanne Murphy, a Muir Group Housing Association employee since 1994, chaired the session focused on handling and managing disrepair in buildings, helping to ensure a lively and informative debate ensued.
Session topics covered items including asset management, absentee leaseholders and how disrepairs are handled.
The June 9th event, held at Manchester Conference Centre, included representatives from more than 30 housing associations and covered a range of subjects which continue to challenge the sector.
“It was fabulous to be a part of the second annual NLG conference,” said Suzanne, (pictured right with Lucy Walsh and Sam Coward of Trowers and Hamlins LLP).
“The event was a great success overall and I was delighted to be representing Muir Group Housing Association.
“The conference was very well attended and there was a really good atmosphere throughout.
“Everybody was engaging, networking and sharing.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the day, particularly chairing the session, and felt it was a privilege to be asked.”
Suzanne is a member of the NLG and is an active steering group representative.
She was joined at the conference by two of her Muir colleagues - Resales Administrator, Hilary Mcloughlin (pictured left), and Rent and Services Charge Administrator, Penny Foulkes (right); who were both experiencing the conference for the first time.
Hilary said: “It was a very informative day and a great networking experience.
“We met lots of other housing association colleague and it was good to share information.”
And Penny added: “The event was very well organised and I would definitely recommend it to others.”
