Staff come together to help spruce up green spaces on Muir housing scheme

A GROUP of staff from various teams across Muir got together to help clear overgrown grounds at one of the Association’s housing schemes.

An area at the rear of properties in Gosforth Place, Chester, was thought to be in need of a tidy up as residents continue to keep the gardens in front of their properties at their best.

Armed with litter pickers and a host of gardening tools, staff set to work on June 16th cutting down overgrown branches, pulling up brambles and removing rubbish from the rear of the general let properties at the Muir scheme.

Gardening And with some residents also turning out to help, it wasn’t long before staff began to see the wood for the trees as they turned up the heat in the summer sun.

Jo Worthington, Community Housing Manager for Muir’s Cheshire West and Chester team said: “It was a fantastic team effort.

“I want to thank everyone who came out to help, staff and residents.

“It was good to see so many staff coming together from different departments.

“The residents were really pleased that we managed to make such a positive difference.

“Activities like this help to build good relationships with residents and it was great to get stuck in and help them keep Gosforth Place looking good.”

Gardening A skip-load of rubbish branches and weeds was soon ready to be removed after staff from Muir's Housing, Property Services, Finance and Business Improvment departments, as well as Muir chief executive, Catherine Dixson, were helped by residents James Cunliffe and Pat Nilssen.
