Summer Fete promises plenty of smiles and a virtual rollercoaster

RESIDENTS are preparing to host a Summer Fete and are inviting members of the community to join them on a fun-filled afternoon.

Tenants at Muir’s Tweedsmuir scheme near Chester are making final preparations for the Saturday, August 20 event and are bringing together a huge variety of activities for people of all ages to enjoy.

A barbeque, live music, virtual reality rollercoasters, a bouncy castle, craft stalls and a hook a duck stall are just some of the things that will be on offer during the 1pm-4pm fete.

Tweedsmuir scheme manager, Donna Hufton, is encouraging as many members of the community to attend and said: “It promises to be a lot of fun and we are looking forward to having a great atmosphere on the day.”

Residents living at Tweedsmuir are delighted to be able to share their recent virtual reality experience with others after they donned special headsets last month to walk with dinosaurs, swim with sharks and live the highs and lows of a thrilling rollercoaster.

With the virtual reality headsets available to visitors on the day, it is a chance for everyone to enjoy the ride.

Donna said: “Residents really enjoyed the virtual reality experience and I am sure it will be something new for a lot of other people to try too.

“But there will be a huge variety of fun to be had at the Tweedsmuir Summer Fete and there will be plenty for families and friends to smile about.”

The fete also offers Henna tattoos, a coconut shy, cake stalls, a raffle, ice-cream, tombolas, face painting and more.
