RRF Round Up - Summer 2015

The latest from our Regional Resident Forums

Lichfield 1

It has been a busy and successful few months for both of our Regional Resident Forums (RRFs).

Lichfield 2 Our RRFs act as a voice for all Muir residents, ensuring that you are consulted at the earliest opportunity on the major decisions that affect your homes and the areas where you live.

They are also responsible for allocating Muir’s extensive scheme enhancement budget. The residents of Lichfield Court recently benefitted from the support of RRF North with the development of their new communal garden space.

Residents decided that the former communal garden was in need of a facelift, and that they would like an area where all residents could meet and enjoy the warm weather during the summer months.

Following discussions with Muir, they were supported by their Community Housing Officer in submitting a bid to the RRF.

The residents were successful in securing £16,000 worth of funding from the RRF. The scheme enhancements have planting, improved and new fencing, creation of new communal seating area and additional benches.

The Eastern Regional Residents Forum also approved 3 recent scheme enhancements.

The residents of Strood Close have seen improvements to their grassed open space area, which has included the installation of new fencing. This not only offers the area greater protection, but also improves the look of the area as well.

Residents living on Whitley Street, Reading, also received funding through the scheme enhancement budget. The Forum approved plans for new shrubs and hedges to be planted at the scheme.

And last but not least, Wallace Court received approval for fencing to be installed to deter fly tippers dumping their rubbish near the scheme. RRF garden
