EMOTIONAL RESIDENT ‘CAN’T SPEAK HIGHLY ENOUGH’ OF MUIR’S TENANCY SUPPORT

“I’VE been surprised and pleased with what the Tenancy Sustainment Officer did.

“I’m over the moon. I’ve told every Muir resident I know to take advantage of the help available.”

Neil Hamilton says the help he got from Muir’s Tenancy Sustainment team has made a massive difference in his life.

The 74-year-old explained how he approached them for help during a drop-in session at the Muir Living McCartney House location in Godmanchester.

And he’s now telling other Muir residents to contact them in the hope the Association can benefit them too.

Muir resident“After speaking with Sophie, one of Muir’s Tenancy Sustainment Officers, they helped me access a £200 household support fund grant, £250 in shopping vouchers, and reduce my water bill by 50%,” Neil (pictured) said.

“Sophie was brilliant, she even helped me complete my application for the Attendance Allowance benefit.

“I spent years helping people with addictions access benefits and support they needed for themselves, but Sophie’s help made me feel a bit emotional because it never occurred someone would care enough to do it for me.

“I thought the help I received was amazing – it’s definitely had a good financial impact and I can’t speak highly enough of the support I received.

“Other Muir residents should certainly take advantage of it.”
