FIRST RESIDENTS TO GO SOLAR LOOK FORWARD TO ‘FANTASTIC’ FUTURE
ONE of the first Muir residents to go solar says she’s looking forward to a “fantastic” future.
Melloney Coles was happy to see her home fitted with new solar panels as part of our sustainability strategy - ‘going green’ with renewable energy to help meet our Net Zero carbon goal.
We’re working to ensure all our homes have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ‘Band C’ rating by 2030.
And Mellony says she was happy with the whole installation process as she and her husband, Doug, look forward to cheaper energy bills this winter and beyond.
“It’s going to be fantastic,” Melloney said.
“We’re really pleased with Muir for providing this.
“It’s natural energy and everything was all done within a day.”
Results from our Stock Condition Surveys show us where to invest to help keep people happy in their homes.
The solar panels will mean lower energy bills, cutting the cost of heating and electricity while making sure our homes are more energy efficient.
“It will make a big difference to our bills,” Melloney said.
“But the whole installation process was fantastic too.
“The scaffolders and electricians who fitted everything were very polite and tidy, and they kept us informed about everything.”
We're committed to improving the sustainability of our homes, enhancing our green spaces and reducing the environmental impact of the way we work.
Making our homes more energy efficient means they'll require less fuel to keep warm — helping to reduce the amount of carbon emissions produced from properties and helping the environment.
