Sustainability

Decent Homes logo We're committed to improving the sustainability of our homes, enhancing our green spaces and reducing the environmental impact of the way we work.

Making our homes more energy efficient means they'll require less fuel to keep warm — helping to reduce the amount of carbon emissions produced from properties and helping the environment.

To help achieve this, we use the results of Stock Condition Surveys to understand the energy efficiency of our homes.

We're also required to ensure the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of all our homes is a minimum of Band C by 2030.

For our customers and communities...

We're improving the energy efficiency of our homes by adding extra insulation where needed, replacing inefficient windows and doors, installing new efficient heating systems and fitting solar panels.

Embracing new technologies will help reduce energy bills, improve the health and wellbeing of customers, and ensure our properties continue to reach the Decent Homes Standard.

For our business...

We help to reduce our environmental impact by focusing on how we manage our waste, reducing water consumption and energy use, as well as the decisions we make when we buy products and services.

We’re also considering lower emission alternatives for our vehicles and exploring how we can improve our green spaces and natural environment.

Our Sustainability Road Map...

Work we do to enhance energy efficiency will help reduce our impact on the environment and meet the Government's Net-Zero carbon emissions target by 2050.
