Speak to your energy provider to ensure you’re on the recommended Economy Seven energy tariff for storage heaters.
It’s more cost effective to charge your storage heaters at night when your electricity tariff is cheapest.

- Most storage heaters have two main controls – ‘Input’ and ‘Output’.
- The input control regulates the amount of heat stored. Turning this down slightly can reduce energy bills without leaving you in the cold.
- Don’t leave ‘Input’ on charge all day. Try turning it down a little bit for a few days until you have just enough heat to least you each day.
- The ‘Output’ control helps to retain heat.
- Turn down the ‘Output’ control whenever you leave the house. This will help store heat for as long as possible so you can use it when you return.
- You can also run a timed programme or reduce the temperature thermostat to be sure of the amount of energy you use.
