A LIFE-CHANGING accident meant Nigel Finch was forced to reassess his needs before he and his wife opted to become shared homeowners with Muir.
Following the incident at his place of work, Nigel and Deborah wanted to be nearer to family for support, and found that upping sticks to Lancashire from Yorkshire was relatively easy thanks to Muir’s shared ownership scheme.
The couple were no strangers to shared ownership having enjoyed a similar deal with their previous home, and knew it was the best option for them.
They recently settled at a new Muir shared ownership home at Wrea Green in Fylde and said: “Without shared ownership buying our own home might not have been possible.
“We feel very lucky to have got this property with Muir.
“We love the area and the house.
“It’s such a lovely village and we’re just seven minutes down the backroads from the beach.”
The appeal of shared home ownership has grown steadily in recent years as it continues to bridge the gap between buying your own home outright amid rising house prices, or renting the roof over your head.
