NEED HELP CLAIMING BENEFITS OR MAKING THE CHANGE TO UNIVERSAL CREDIT?

OUR Tenancy Sustainment Officers can help you move your benefits to Universal Credit if you’ve had a letter telling you to act.

Daniel Turner, Muir Tenancy Sustainment Officer, has been supporting residents to make the move  from their old-style benefits to Universal Credit, help ing make sure they don’t lose anything they’re entitled to.

If you’ve received a letter, you need to make the change too as many older-style benefits, including Tax Credits, Housing Benefit and Income Support, are gradually being phased out.

How we can help...

Muir staffI’m one of the Tenancy Sustainment Officers helping Muir residents make the change to Universal Credit,” Daniel said.

“When you get a letter telling you to act, it can be worrying, but we can help.

“I recently helped a resident who contacted us for help as it was a big change for him.

“Accessing new systems and processes was hard on his mental health.”

Daniel visited the resident and supported our resident through a telephone claim as he wasn’t able to make the claim online.

Daniel guided him through the transfer process so he didn’t lose anything he was entitled to, request ing his new Universal Credit and helping him to budget.

“Budgeting support was important as Universal Credit is paid monthly, unlike the old-style benefits which were paid every two weeks,” Daniel said.

We arranged that the money for his rent come directly to us to ensure he didn’t get behind on his rent and fall into arrears, which would have caused further stress.”

We can also help you apply for benefits you might be entitled to.
