New repair management tool is just the job for Muir residents

THE use of a new online management tool is providing a more efficient service for Muir residents.

Muir Group Housing Association’s in-house contractor, Muir Property Solutions, began using the Accuserv tool earlier this year, helping to streamline operations and respond to customers quicker.

The service is accessed by maintenance staff on mobile devices and is set to be complimented by a text messaging system to let tenants know when the MPS maintenance team is on its way.

MPSIt is already providing a better level of customer service and an enhanced way of working.

Barry Brussels, Executive Director at MPS said: “The Accuserv tool is a repair management solution which automates many of the tasks during the life of a repair that were previously manual processes.

“It means operatives can update MPS’ internal systems on the move and is having a very beneficial impact on the way we work.

“This means we can be more versatile, respond quicker and provide a proactive service to Muir residents.

“We recognise that residents have very real concerns when they call Muir for help with repairs and Accuserv enables us to deal with their request in a more efficient manner and reduce our response times accordingly.”

All MPS operatives now have online Personal Data Assistants and can travel directly to their first job, meaning they now don’t need to attend the office to collect their work for the day.

MPS van MPS Office Manager, Diane McDonald said: “We have an ‘Evolving Day’ screen where we can see how the working day is progressing at MPS.

“This assists us to be proactive in dealing with any potential issues during the day.

“Each stage of the job is captured so we have real time information and can provide responses to queries immediately, rather than waiting for the paperwork to come in.”

The system will soon be complimented by a text messaging service, sending residents a reminder of the job on the morning of the appointment.

They will also receive a further message advising them when an operative is on their way to see them.
