RESIDENT CALLS MUIR A ‘LIFESAVER’ AFTER ACCESSING TENANCY SUSTAINMENT SUPPORT

A ‘DESPERATE’ resident cried tears of joy after admitting she didn’t know how she’d have survived without the help of Muir’s Sustainment Officers.

Huntingdon resident, Sophie Wiseman, says she feared for her future before explaining how Muir helped her escape “one of the most precarious positions I could have been in.”

The mother-of-two had sometimes gone without food to ensure her children were fed but admitted huge relief after contacting Muir’s Sustainment Officers who have helped to reverse her fortunes having previously lived on just £60 per week.

“It was awful. I don’t know how I would have survived without Muir’s help.

“I’d been really worrying about my rent arrears and burying my head in the sand.

“I was in such a mess with money but one phone call from Muir helped to change everything – it gave me a sense of hope.”

Muir’s Tenancy Sustainment Officers worked with Sophie to help her access benefits she didn’t know she was entitled too, as well as signposting her to Huntingdon’s local Foodbank; which delivered food to her house – a service she says was “overwhelming”.

“The help was a lifesaver for me,” Sophie said.

“I’ve never felt relief like it. It was huge.

“There were lots of happy tears and I’ve been able to buy my children new clothes for the first time in over a year.

“Muir have been so helpful – I really enjoy living with them.

“I love the area and there is a good community spirit.

“I’d encourage anyone going through similar money worries or rent arrears to contact them.”
