RESIDENT SAYS MUIR’S TENANCY SUPPORT IS HELPING HER ESCAPE ‘DARK PLACE’

A RESIDENT has revealed how Muir’s tenancy support is helping her escape a dark place and get back on track with her rent account.

Reading resident, Jill Young, accessed the support available from Muir’s Tenancy Support Officers after her debts spiralled following the loss of her job.

The 60-year-old says she’d advise other residents facing financial or wellbeing concerns to do the same as she explained how the support she received from Muir has helped her get back on track.

“I’ve been overwhelmed by the support,” said Jill, a Muir resident for 27 years.

Muir resident “The tenancy sustainment support has helped me access things I didn’t even know were there,”

“I was in a bad place after losing my job. A lot of things accumulated, and it was a very worrying time.

“I got behind in my rent but the help I’ve received from Muir is helping me turn things around.”

Muir Tenancy Sustainment Officer, Sophie Powter, has been helping Jill access benefits including Discretionary Housing Payment and apply for a reduction in council tax after also applying for a Debt Relief Order.

Support sign “Sophie has really helped to take the pressure off,” said Jill.

“She’s been really helpful and helped me understand things I didn’t know I was entitled to.
