‘UNBELIEVEABLE MUIR SUPPORT CAN HELP OTHER RESIDENTS THOUGH TOUGH TIMES TOO’ – CAROLYN SAYS
CAROLYN Green says the “unbelievable” support she received from Muir helped her when she needed it most.
The 55-year-old Crewe resident says she was ‘lifted from under a black cloud’ when Muir’s Tenancy Sustainment Officers helped her put her finances back on track.
She says she was overwhelmed by the support after her benefits stalled, leaving her behind with rent and other bills, and struggling to put things right.
“I was overwhelmed by the support I got from Muir,” Carolyn said.
“I’d felt stranded but things changed so quickly. The support was massive – they took the pressure right off.
“I’d encourage other residents to use the service – don’t just sit at home worrying.”
When Carolyn’s benefit payments stalled, Muir’s housing officers arranged for a member of the Association’s Tenancy Sustainment team to help.
“I was so scared when my benefits hadn’t been paid,” said Carolyn. “I struggle over the phone and filling out forms, so it was good to get some help face-to-face.
“Leigh helped put my anxiety at rest and sorted things out.
“He was very conscientious and caring. It’s made a massive difference.”
Leigh Mucedola, the Muir Tenancy Sustainment Officer who helped Carolyn said: “We’re pleased to provide a service that can help Muir residents through tough times.
“It’s free, and it can make a huge difference to people’s lives if they contact us.
“We were even able to help get Carolyn some adaptations to help her around the house too.”
Carolyn, a former teaching assistant, is now enjoying being back in control of her finances and said: “I hope other Muir residents can feel the same relief I did after Muir’s help.
“Don’t be embarrassed to ask. I’m just grateful for the support.”
