  • Opening a window when cooking, or taking a bath or shower, will reduce condensation in your kitchen and bathroom.
  • Closing kitchen and bathroom doors will stop condensation escaping to other rooms.
  • Keep lids on pans when cooking to stop steam escaping.
  • If you have an extractor fan installed – use it to help prevent condensation in kitchens and bathrooms.
  • Don’t dry wet clothes on top of radiators – use a clothes maiden or a washing line outside if the weather’s good.
  • If condensation appears inside your windows on cold mornings, wipe them with a cloth to stop mould forming on frames or window sills.
  • Allow air to circulate behind large pieces of furniture by creating a gap between them and the wall.
  • To remove mould, wipe walls and window frames with a mould removable spray or wash.
