“INCREDIBLY HELPFUL” MUIR APPRENTICESHIP GIVES SAM A GREAT START IN HOUSING

SAM Blythin says her Muir apprenticeship is giving her a range of new skills.

She’s helping Muir residents as she works towards a Chartered Institute of Housing qualification which she believes will form the foundation for her chosen career.

“Having begun her time at Muir assisting a community housing team, she’s now serving the next stage of her apprenticeship in our Customer Experience Team (CET) contact centre – continuing to help Muir residents in a variety of ways.

“The things I enjoyed most about my first role was assisting the Community Housing Team with their call backs,” Sam said.

Muir apprentice “I enjoyed listening to customers about any neighborhood issues they needed to discuss, as well as admin duties of uploading properties for letting purposes and mail merges.

In my new role with CET, my duties include answering calls, raising repairs for customers, responding to emails and taking rent payments.

“Every call is different, and no day is ever the same.

“As an apprentice I’m learning more about property management through customer engagement, training and responding to repairs.”

Sam says she’d encourage others considering a career in housing to begin their journey on a Muir apprenticeship too – whatever their age.

The apprenticeship has been incredibly helpful,” Sam said.

Muir apprentice “I’ve learning so many skills which are helpful to my role and my qualification assignments; and I’m enjoying the process towards a building career in housing.

“Social housing is a great career choice as there are so many roles which you can do.

“I started an apprenticeship much later in life and there are no barriers to learning something new.

“I’d recommend an apprenticeship with Muir for their values and the opportunities they provide.”
