Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships video

Our apprenticeships offer people the chance to obtain accredited qualifications in the housing sector while gaining workplace experience that can help apprentices secure roles within the industry.

They're also available to existing staff wanting to enhance their skills and qualifications.

Former winners of the SYSCO Training Academy ‘Housing Apprenticeship Employer of the Year’ Award, we received the coveted award after being recognised by SYSCO for our “hard work and commitment to developing a skilled and motivated workforce through apprenticeships.”

See what some of our apprentices say about doing their apprenticeships with us...

Muir staff video Liam Bass — Apprentice

"This has been a great experience — I thoroughly enjoyed my apprenticeship.

"My advice to anyone would be to get stuck in and learn as much as you can.

“You gain so much knowledge about the processes and see how various departments work together.

“My colleagues at Muir have treated me with respect. They’ve given me responsibility, and I’ve been able to run with it.

“An apprenticeship brings structure to your life, which provides you with the skills to build a career.”

Livie Fields — Apprentice

“Being part of an apprenticeship, I feel you grow up quicker.

“It’s been great working with colleagues, they’ve been so supportive whilst I’ve been completing my apprenticeship.

“I started my apprenticeship with the Customer Experience Team helping to handle customer queries and any issues they raised.

“I’ve also worked with Cheshire East & Warrington Housing Team, getting involved in Fuel Poverty Events, supporting with communications, and supporting residnets when they move into new homes."

“It’s been a really good experience.”

“I chose to do apprenticeship alongside my role so I could learn a bit more about management, so there might be room for me to progress through to a management role in the future.

“The apprenticeship basically focused on all aspects of management including budget setting, conflict resolution and project management.

“I was able to undertake my own project, focusing on the revamp of our factsheets for residents, and I’ve been leading on several other projects within my team since then as well.”
