SOPHIE’S SUPPORT HAS BEEN HELPING RESIDENTS GET SOME GREAT OUTCOMES!

OUR Tenancy Sustainment Officers can work with you when times are tough, providing valuable support you need – for no extra charge.
Sophie Powter enjoys getting great outcomes for residents and recently helped two who had only just moved into their Muir homes.
She explained how she’s helped make a difference to their lives - helping them apply for benefits, access wellbeing grants and more.
“We worked with a new resident with complex physical and mental health challenges to arrange and organise her utility bills as well supporting her to apply for benefits including Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and move to Universal Credit,” Sophie said.
“We also helped her to get an occupational therapy assessment and support from her GP.
“She’s happy to know she can get support from our tenancy sustainment team when she needs extra help.”
Sophie was also able to help another new resident who needed short-term support to access food as her maternity pay ended, as she had to wait one month before receiving Universal Credit.
“ We realised the resident was eligible for social tariffs and her son could apply for Disability Living Allowance too,” Sophie said.
“We provided a shopping voucher for the resident to get the food she needed and obtained a wellbeing grant to enable her to get flooring in her home.”
We also submitted an application to the BBC Children in Need fund for support buying a cooker to help her make her house a home.
