RRF Roundup

We need you!

Would you like to help shape our residents future? rrf photo

The role of the Regional Residents Forums (RRFs) is to challenge specific areas of Muir activities, based on feedback from residents. They also oversee whether we are achieving positive outcomes for you.

Currently there are two RRFs – one for our Northern region, and one for the South. The Forums are held jointly twice a year, whilst the other four meetings are held regionally.

Our RRFs act as a voice for all Muir residents, challenging the way that services are provided, and ensuring that residents are consulted at the earliest opportunity when making important decisions about things that affect their homes and the areas where they live.

The RRFs help Muir to prioritise and implement regional initiatives and are responsible for the spending of a substantial Scheme Enhancement Budget, approving proposals to carry out improvements that benefit communities and their residents.

Helping to improve your communities

The RRFs have had another busy year, approving 14 scheme enhancements and spending over £52,000 on improving your communities. These scheme enhancements have included planting, improved and new fencing, creation of new communal seating areas and additional safety features, helping to address residents’ needs.

They have also worked with Muir to review a number of policies, the latest of which looks at the specification (standards) of our new build homes, which is which is in the process of being finalised.

Both our RRFs continue to monitor Muir’s performance at a regional level.  This has included getting out and visiting our residents.

At the January 2015 joint meeting of the RRFs a number of topics were discussed including;

  • The achievements of the RRFs over the last year
  • The Code of Conduct for all RRF members
  • Muir’s approach to promoting digital inclusion and how it communicates with its residents
  • The approval of 5 scheme enhancement proposals featuring the creation of a new communal seating area, provision of security lighting and parking provision at a number of schemes.

If you would like to be part of an RRF, or would like to come along to a meeting to see if it is for yourself, then please contact Mark Wiggins (RRF North) or Ben Tranter (RRF South) on 0300 123 1222.
